The Supreme Court’s harmful decision not only flies in the face of 50 years of legal precedent and 50 years of codified reproductive rights, it has extensive implications for other crucial policy issues affecting the NYC youth communities we serve, including LGBTQIA+ people.

The safety of our youth members, including their bodily autonomy, is our top priority, and we will always support services and fight for policies that ensure their well-being.

Reproductive rights are human rights, plain and simple. The Door believes in full care access, including legal abortion and the right to choose—rights that shouldn’t depend on your zip code.

For 50 years and counting, The Door has supported NYC youth in need throughout their journeys to greater independence and reaching their fullest potential. We are committed to being there for them for the next half-century.

All our spaces remain welcoming, safe havens to all NYC young people, regardless of the ability to pay. And all our doors providing free, confidential services—health and counseling, legal services and immigration, housing, career and education, the arts, and nutrition—remain open.
