We are looking for a skilled Clinical Manager/Registered Nurse to work in collaboration with the health center management team and the medical board. The Clinical Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of clinical services and will also be responsible for compliance and quality assurance programs for our Adolescent Health Center.

Founded in 1972, The Door empowers youth to reach their potential by providing a complete range of services all under one roof.  Each year over 11,000 young people from all five New York City boroughs come to The Door for primary health care, reproductive care and health education, mental health counseling, legal services, supportive housing, HSE, ESL, tutoring and homework help, college preparation and computer classes, career & education services, job placement, daily meals, cultural arts, and services.

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the day-to-day clinical functions of the Adolescent Health Center, as it relates to the management of clinical services, leadership of the clinical staff, coordination of staffing patterns, client flow, and resource procurement and utilization.
  • Develops, monitors, and executes a quality assurance program in a manner consistent with best practices, federal/state/local guidelines, agency policies and procedures, and grant requirements.
  • Schedules and participates in all on site audits, operational reviews, and program site visits.
  • Coordinate team collaboration by facilitating team huddles, leading quality assurance meetings, and overseeing quality improvement projects.
  • Develops and implements new policies and procedures and clinical and operational changes to optimize patient care.
  • Oversees clinical training activities, including training modules and materials, and facilitates training presentations. Tracks records completed trainings.
  • Monitoring and analyzing patient reports; leveraging critical thinking and developing solutions related to patent safety, risk management, service delivery, quality controls, and clinical innovation.
  • Develops linkages with other health care providers and medical facilities for clinical referrals and care coordination.
  • Performs other such duties as delegated by the Assistant Medical Director and Managing Director of Health Programs.

Qualifications: 

  • New York State Registered Nursing License, Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Will consider a high level NYS Licensed Practical Nurse, with a Bachelors degree and relevant experience listed below.
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive health care management experience required, preferably in youth development, adolescent health care, reproductive health care, and/or primary health care.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in quality assurance, quality improvement, healthcare compliance and/or risk management. Certification preferred.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot, conduct a quick analysis and problem-solve effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, motivational and interpersonal skills required.
  • Tech Savvy – Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR), preferably eClinicalWorks (eCW); knowledge of Microsoft (Share Point, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and familiar with other computer software preferred.
  • CPR/BLS required.
  • Bilingual a plus!

Work Schedule: This is a Full time, Monday – Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. position, that requires flexibility for possible evening hours.
