The Door empowers young people to reach their full potential by providing comprehensive youth development services in a diverse and caring environment.

As the LGBTQ+ Services Coordinator, you are an advocate for LGBTQIAA identified young people and provide different resources You will create and facilitate original trainings, workshops, and sessions to support LGBTQ youth and educating the Door community.

What You Will Do:
• Perform a comprehensive bio psychosocial and needs assessment of LGBTQIAA identified youth
• Develop and implement an outreach plan to locate and engage LGBTQIAA youth
• Partner with other network agencies to promote active inclusion of LGBTQ+ Door members
• Perform ACS mandated reporting duties as needed
• Perform suicide/risk assessments and appropriate follow-up with young people in collaboration with supervisor
• Document client interactions and complete all required reports
• Participate in relevant policy meetings at the state and city level

What We Are Looking For:
• You have 2 years experience in youth development counseling
• You have 2 years’ experience working with LGBTQIAA identified youth
• You have a knack for engaging youth and the ability to apply positive youth development practices
• You are familiar with emergency and transitional youth shelter systems
• You have a strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion
• You are technologically savvy with fluency in Microsoft Office
• You are organized and passionate about accuracy
• You are ambitious and can work independent but also with fellow team members
• You have a Bachelor’s degree
