Overview: The Door is an unparalleled model for youth development, offering a comprehensive range of integrated services within a single site for nearly 11,000 New York City youth each year. At The Door, youth can access health care and education, mental health counseling and crisis assistance, legal assistance, college preparation services, career development, housing supports, arts, sports and recreational activities, and nutritious meals – all for free and under one roof. By providing participants with our suite of integrated services, we seek to provide any motivated young person with the tools, resources, and opportunities needed to successfully transition to adulthood.

Reporting directly to the Facilities Director, the Receiving/Maintenance Associate is responsible for initiating, administering, supervising, coordinating and evaluating all custodial, maintenance, transportation, and security and grounds services in such a manner as to provide effective, efficient facility services within and around the Door’s premises.

• Sign for & verify goods delivered to the building
• Log and track all deliveries into the building
• Maintain Delivery Storage Room
• Secure access to the building via Watts Street
• Maintain delivery logs
• Coordinate deliveries with the Front Desk, Facilities, TD Staff and other CO-OP partners
• Clean trash /recycle room and Watts Street entrance
• Maintain the Watt St. Gym during the day hours
• Assist the Facilities Coordinator as directed
• Unpack and store supplies
• Maintain Watts Street Gym restrooms and locker rooms daily or as needed
• Removal of garbage and trash daily or as needed
• Sweep and maintain Watts Street daily or as needed
• Other assignments as assigned by supervisor

• Knowledge of receiving area protocols
• Experience in general maintenance work
• Knowledge of general security practices
• Must be reliable and punctual
• Must be extremely organized
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to lift 75lbs

Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: Mid 30s, plus generous benefits
