Laura Grund
Chief Program Officer
Laura joined The Door in September 2024 as Chief Program Officer. In this role, she leads the day-to-day operations of The Door's program areas. Laura brings over 20 years of experience in the human services, housing, and health sectors, working in complex non-profit and governmental organizations serving homeless adults, families, and youth with HIV/AIDS, substance use, mental illness, and other medical conditions. She has extensive experience in strategy, planning, program management, development, and evaluation.
Previously, Laura worked at Harlem United Community AIDS Center in various roles, most recently as Senior Vice President of Programs, providing programmatic, administrative, and fiscal oversight of a diverse program portfolio worth close to $25 million. Laura also served as the Director of Housing at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, where she oversaw a large contract portfolio of supportive housing and homeless programs.
Laura holds an MPA from the University of Texas at Austin and a BA from Union College. She is thrilled to join The Door and is motivated by her passion for shaping and influencing public policy that supports underserved communities.
