About the Event
Taste of Community features unlimited food tastings, craft cocktails, local beers, and fine wines for guests to enjoy. Guests will also get to meet the chefs of today and tomorrow, as The Door showcases the incredible young people who are part of our vibrant culinary program, The CUT.

About The Door
The Door is an unparalleled model for youth development, offering a comprehensive range of integrated services for up to 11,000 New York City youth annually across our four New York City locations: our lower Manhattan and South Bronx youth centers and two supportive housing sites on the Lower East Side. At The Door, youth can access health care and education, mental health counseling and crisis assistance, legal assistance, high school equivalency and college preparation services, career development, housing supports, arts, recreational activities, and nutritious meals.

The Door's team of youth culinary interns with our chefs at Taste of Community 2024. The CUT is a unique 10-week paid culinary program that offers crew members real-world experience in our in-house kitchen while working to obtain ServSafe Food Handlers Certification.
